About
A structural engineer who answers the phone, visits the site, and stays on the project.
KeliAnn Engineering, LLC was founded by Keli Dudek, S.E., to give homeowners, architects, and contractors the kind of structural partner that larger firms rarely make time for. That means direct access to the engineer of record, not a rotating cast of project managers.
The practice has worked collaboratively with architectural firms for years on residential additions and new construction, and takes on commercial and civil engineering projects with the same level of attention — thorough calculations, clear drawings, and follow-through into construction.
- Illinois-licensed structural engineer (S.E.)
- Direct collaboration with architects and general contractors
- On site through construction, not just at the permit set
- Residential, commercial, and civil engineering experience

Renovations to Ranch Manor shopping center, Oak Lawn, IL
KeliAnn Engineering is the Engineer of Record and provided the structural design, structural drawings, and construction observation services for renovation of the existing second story exterior walkway and staircase. The renovations include the concrete repair of the existing second story walkway, resurfacing the second-floor walkway to protect the existing structure, and moving the exterior staircases. The existing building is a concrete, masonry, and steel structure.
Renovations to The Clayson, Palatine, IL
KeliAnn Engineering provided the review of 364 wood balconies to determine the existing structural integrity of the balconies. The review was required by the city. KeliAnn Engineering worked with city officials to negotiate a deadline for the balcony review and submitted reports to the city stating what balconies were safe as is with no repairs required, were safe as is but would require repairs, and were condemned.
Structures for Civil Engineering
KeliAnn Engineering has a close relationship with precast concrete manufacturers and civil engineers. We work to design concrete structures for sewage and drainage as well as retaining walls, headwalls, and other unique structures for civil engineering projects.

Frequently asked questions
Straight answers to what homeowners, architects, and contractors ask before their first call.
Architects design how a space looks and functions; a structural engineer confirms it will actually stand up — sizing the beams, footings, and connections, and stamping the calculations your municipality requires for a permit. Most renovations that touch a wall, floor, or roof need both.
It's a report or drawing set signed and sealed by a licensed structural engineer, certifying the findings and design meet Illinois engineering standards. Municipalities require a stamped set to issue a building permit, and lenders or insurers often require one after storm, settlement, or fire damage.
A site inspection is typically scheduled within a week or two, with a sealed report following shortly after the visit. Design timelines depend on project scope — a bearing wall removal moves much faster than a full addition — and we'll give you a realistic timeline before work starts.
KeliAnn Engineering is based in La Grange and serves the greater Chicago metro area, including the western suburbs, for residential, commercial, and civil engineering projects.
Yes. Keli Dudek is a licensed Structural Engineer (S.E.) and Professional Engineer (P.E.) in Illinois, and serves as the engineer of record on every project KeliAnn Engineering takes on.
It depends on the scope — a single bearing wall review costs far less than a full structural design for an addition. Share a few project details through the contact form and you'll get a straightforward estimate before any work begins.
Yes — KeliAnn Engineering regularly partners directly with architects and general contractors on permit drawings, RFIs, and construction-phase questions, in addition to working with homeowners directly.
Yes. Unexpected conditions behind a wall or under a floor are common once demolition starts. We can visit the site, assess the issue, and issue updated drawings or a field revision quickly so your project doesn't stall.
